Sudan excludes immediate lifting of subsidies on commodities


The Prime Minister of Sudan Moataz Moussa said yesterday that the government has no plans to lift subsidies on basic commodities.
While the Governor of the Central Bank said that the problem of cash crisis was solved.
Sudan on Sunday began implementing a new system whereby a body of banks and exchange companies would set a daily exchange rate in an effort to counter foreign exchange shortages and a broader economic crisis. The exchange rate was set by the central bank before, and was 29 pounds to the dollar before the devaluation of the currency on Sunday.
